〜What is 箏？〜
Do you know the musical instrument "箏”？ The original model of this instrument was introduced to Japan from China over 1400 years ago. Stringed instruments are generally called koto in Japanese. Formally, "箏" is called Sou. However, we usually call it koto, since it is typical of stringed instruments in Japan.
〜About 箏曲部〜
Our club has a long history of about 70 years. It was established by a famous koto player. We have a good environment. We can play the koto for common use. A proffessional koto player comes every Wednesday to teach us. We can take individual lessons at convenient time. Taking lessons by the teacher, we can expect a stead improvement of our playing skills. Most of us started playing the koto from entering university. So, you can easily join us!
We perform in the school festival, regular concert, and so on. Also, we have a chance to play koto as BGM at a company's party.
We have some members of international students. We want you to join 箏曲部 and experience a Japanese musical instrument. We are waiting for you to come!
