Some Japanese Ochanomizu University students think:

“Finally I entered University! … then take a step to a foreign country.

If I have a chance to go abroad, perhaps does it better to study in a foreign country than just to travel?

But which country can I go to? And how?

Even if I want to go abroad, do I have an opportunity to listen to some experiences

from anyone?

Conditions of applying to an exchange program through University look severe… ”

On the other hand,

“Finally I came to Japan and entered Ochanomizu University, but I have no idea to do and

what is what. And do I have a chance to get along with Japanese people? Where?”

For those students, we came up with one idea;

We would like to make an opportunity to provide ”BRIDGE” between Japanese and

foreign students!

That is “ Ocha Uni International Day Project”!

For Japanese;

If you are interested in studying abroad or foreign countries, you can listen to some

stories from ex-exchange students or foreign students.

Perhaps you can make some precious friends who are aiming to study abroad,

For foreign students;

You can get lots of helpful information to live a satisfying life in Japan.

Besides, you can talk to Japanese students and make friends with them!

That is also a good chance to get along with some Japanese friends who are interested

in your country or who can speak your mother tongue.

“Can I join?”

Of course, everyone is welcomed! Feel free to come and enjoy! Just do it!

There a lot of unique people who have different ideas and experiences will gather the

the same place beyond the group which you usually belong to, such as your classes, you're

faculty, your circle, Part-time job.

Doesn’t it sound interesting? Let’s come to our party and take a look at the new places

to meet new people!

We are planning to hold the first event in the afternoon on 25th-27th April at
Students Restaurant “Marche”.

Let’s enjoy the communication eating some sweets and drinking tea, and playing some

games!

Each country and area around the world has spaces so you can ask a question about

staying there and the way to learn the languages etc.

This project started some opinions from students and teachers:

“There are few students from foreign countries in Ochanomizu University”

“not many foreign students come to Ochanomizu University’s booth at Forums held

overseas.”

On the other hand, “I have no idea from whom I should get information about studying

abroad. ”

Then we came up with one idea; hold a Forum inside of University!

Now we are promoting this idea incorporating the communication with foreign students.

We are still on the way to improving the contents incorporating good ideas from mainly

a lot of co-planner students, and teachers.

As a final goal, we would like to hold the “International Day Project” twice a year, and

want to make Ochanomizu University full of international communication campus.
